Some bands treat covers like a compromise. We do not. Playing songs people already love is one of the fastest ways to turn a quiet room into a party, and there is real craft in doing it well.
A cover is not karaoke. When we take a song apart and put it back together with our own mix of rock, funk, and country, it becomes ours for those three minutes. That is the fun of it, and it is a big part of why a live band beats a playlist every time.
But we did not start a band just to play other people's songs. So we sneak our originals into the set, usually right when the room is warmed up and ready to trust us with something new. The best feeling in the world is watching people dance to a song they have never heard before.
That balance is the whole game. Covers earn the room, originals give it something only we can offer, and a good night has plenty of both.
